Novel route maintenance protocols for the Bluetooth ad hoc network with mobility
نویسندگان
چکیده
Bluetooth technology is specially designed for the wireless personal area networks to replace cable. Several challenges exist in Bluetooth scatternet formation and routing, since nodes can arrive and depart at arbitrary times. In this paper, novel route maintenance algorithms are proposed for the Bluetooth ad hoc networks, where nodes can enter or exit from the piconets time to time. Our protocols guarantee the connectivity among nodes and reconstruct the routes dynamically by considering location information of the nodes. Besides, it is proposed how to reduce the number of hops and to form the shortest route between the source and the destination due to addition of new nodes to a piconet. Performance analysis of our protocols show that they outperform in terms of end to end transmission delay, bandwidth consumption and average hop counts as compared to similar Bluetooth routing protocols that we have considered. r 2008 Elsevier Ltd. A Self-organizing Location and Mobility-Aware Route Optimization Protocol for Bluetooth Wireless
Bluetooth allows multi-hop ad-hoc networks that contain multiple interconnected piconets in a common area to form a scatternet. Routing is one of the technical issues in a scatternet because nodes can arrive and leave at arbitrary times; hence node mobility has a serious impact on network performance. Bluetooth network is built in an ad-hoc fashion, therefore, a fully connected network does not...
متن کاملA Multi-agent Approach for Routing on Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks
Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network is a special form of mobile ad -hoc networks (MANETs) which is a vehicle to vehicle and vehicle roadside wireless communication network. VANET is a new standard that integrates Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other mobile connectivity protocols. The essential requirement of VANET is that it should be able to communicate in any environment irrespective of traffic densities and vehi...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Realistic Mobility Model for Ad hoc Networks
Realistic mobility models can demonstrate more precise evaluation results because their parameters are closer to the reality. In this paper a realistic Fuzzy Mobility Model has been proposed. This model has rules which are changeable depending on nodes and environmental conditions. It seems that this model is more complete than other mobility models. After simulation, it was found out that not o...
متن کاملNetwork Parameters Evaluation in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) Routing Protocols for Efficient Message Delivery in City Environment
Abstract- Efficient message delivery in city environment is required to ensure driver’s safety and passenger’s comfortability. In cities of developed nations, routing of data in vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) faces many challenges such as radio obstacles, mobility constraints and uneven nodes distribution. These factors primarily makes communication between vehicles complex. To overcome and t...
متن کاملLUNAR – A Lightweight Underlay Network Ad-hoc Routing Protocol and Implementation
In this paper we describe LUNAR, a lean and efficient routing protocol for wireless ad hoc networks. We report on its implementation, on performance comparisons and on a formal validation result. The protocol departs in several ways from standard ad hoc routing protocols: it does not feature route repair, route caching, route maintenance or packet salvation. Nevertheless it closely matches the ...
